EndNote: EndNote Online

This guide provides information on how to set-up and use EndNote.

About EndNote Online

EndNote has two parts: EndNote Desktop and EndNote Online. EndNote Desktop is the software you downloaded from here. EndNote Online is an online service that allows you to store, share, and organize your citations from any computer. 

Setup

The easiest way to set up your EndNote Online account is to set it up from your EndNote Desktop.

For Windows:

  • Open EndNote Desktop on your computer.
  • Click the synchronize button on the tool bar. 
  • You will be prompted to create an EndNote Online account.

For Mac:

  • Launch EndNote Desktop on your computer.
  • Click the synchronize button on the tool bar. 
  • You will be prompted to create an EndNote Online account.

 

After you create and synchronize your accounts, you can access your EndNote Online account by going to https://access.clarivate.com/login?app=endnote

After you log in, click on "Download Installers" to download and install the Cite While You Write plugin for the Internet browser you are using.

Need help?

EndNote Online has a help feature similat to the desktop help feature. After logging into EndNote Online, look for the "Help" button at the top right corner of the page.
