Film 

Class Assignment:

Film Studies scholarly research paper: In this assignment, you will write a persuasive argument interpreting three different film texts and using 3-5 scholarly resources you have researched. Your argument should take a stance on the common link you see in your group of films and why they are significant to the field of Film Studies. 

Student’s Paper:

This student has decided to interpret these three films:

  1. Blade Runner
  2. Alien
  3. Avatar

Arguing that the common link is Corporate Greed in Sci-Fi.

YOUR Group Assignment: The aforementioned student has begun the research process and has found 5 sources. Using the CRAAP test & SHIFT method, evaluate if the sources gathered are appropriate for this assignment and meet the professor requirements.

History 

Class Assignment:

Your project must engage a military history-related question that falls within the time period that we will cover this semester. The question should also have relevance to contemporary culture. The final project will be a thoroughly researched assignment in the form of a traditional paper.

*You may include textbook citations or popular website citations if they are helpful to your paper, but they won’t count as one of your 6 sources (1 primary, 5 Scholarly).

Student’s Paper: How did Washington’s Spies change modern war fair?

The student hypothesis is that by inventing spycraft, Washington helps America win the war against the British thus establishing America as a country and eventually leading to spycraft become one of the most important aspects of modern warfare.

  • The student will show hypothesis by establishing Washington as the one who legitimized spying as a military tool
  • Provide an example that Washington used spying to help win decisive military victories
  • Provide sources showing spying as a main/important military tool

 

Physical Therapy

Choose a common injury for a specific sport and evaluate the current prevention and recovery techniques for that injury in order to recommend techniques to a university athletic program.  6 scholarly sources (at least 1 source must be original and all articles need to be published within the last 5 years).  

Student’s Paper:

Physical therapy techniques for knee ligament injuries in volleyball players. The student will begin by providing information about the injury and how the sport causes or increases the changes of the injury followed by source on recovery techniques.
