Library Policies

Policies and Forms

The Beaman Library uses the Collection Development Policy to guide the selection, maintenance, and deselection of print and digital materials, including books, ebooks, journals, and databases. A .PDF of the current Collection Development Policy, as approved in the summer of 2023, is attached below.

Current Lipscomb University students, faculty, and staff can submit a reconsideration request for materials within the library's print and digital collections. Reconsideration requests from retired faculty and staff, alumni, or individuals not affiliated with the institution will not be considered. The Reconsideration Request Form is attached below as a fillable .PDF.

When a reconsideration request is submitted, library faculty will process the request and convene a Materials Evaluation Committee. They will submit their findings using the attached Materials Evaluation Committee Report below.
