Checkout privileges are granted to Lipscomb faculty, staff, and students when presenting their Lipscomb ID. Alumni and retired faculty may also check out print books after applying for a Bison Borrower card online. Beaman Library allows the greater community to come into our building and use the print resources in-house.

Late Materials
- Starting August 22, 2022, Beaman Library no longer charges late fees for books in the university general circulating collection, although other types of items may still have late fees.
- Materials in the library's reserve collection, including technology such as iPads and Chromebooks, accrue hourly or daily late fees.
Lost Materials
- Materials from the university general circulating collection are considered lost when they are 31 days overdue. Materials from the reserves collections are considered lost after 48 hours (2-hour and 24-hour reserves) or 7 days (2-day and 7-day reserves).
- When an item is lost, the patron's library account and CNS account will have a hold placed until the replacement fee is paid or the item in question is returned. This will block the user's ability to register for classes, access transcripts, and graduate.
- The lost book fee is $50 plus a $10 processing fee. Fees may be paid at the library or through Touchnet.
Technology Items
- Some technology items are available for checkout to current Lipscomb faculty, staff, and students. The fines and replacement fees for these items vary according to cost.
Ebooks and Databases
- Ebooks, databases and other digital materials are available only to faculty, staff and students who have a university username and password.
- Electronic resources are not available to those who are not currently enrolled or working at Lipscomb University.
