Purpose of Beaman Library (Why)

Beaman Library strives to be central to the Lipscomb University community’s discovery and use of knowledge by providing materials, information, and services that support the University’s mission. Its aim is to help students graduate as competent and ethical users of information technologies with strong intellectual curiosity and life-long love of reading, learning, and independent thinking.

Mission of Beaman Library (What We Do)

The mission of Beaman Library is to bring people and information together by providing resources, services, and balanced collections that enhance the curriculum and support research at Lipscomb University. The library offers research assistance and teaches the effective use of library resources and critical evaluation skills to all faculty, staff, and students. The programs and services of the library are geared toward implementing the mission of the University with the specific objectives of meeting the education needs of the University.
