Because scholarly research requires you to cite your sources, Gen AI is not the best option for finding sources for a research paper.  This is because Gen AI

• gets its info from a variety of sources, both reliable and unreliable
• hallucinates sources that don't exist
• cannot provide links to sources that are not openly available on the internet

The library recommends that you use library databases to find sources for scholarly research instead.  This is because library databases

• are curated collections of reliable materials
• give you access to journal articles that require a paid subscription
• provide all the information you need to cite the source accurately
