Dr. Judy D. Cummings
Dr. Cummings is Senior Pastor of the historic New Covenant Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nashville, TN. An advocate for justice, Dr. Cummings works diligently in the community serving on various community boards and organizations and as a trained community organizer is frequently called upon to speak and to act on issues of injustice.
Melody Fowler-Green
The current Metro Human Relations Commission Director, Fowler-Green has spent her legal career as an advocate committed to human and civil rights. In private practice, she worked to represent low-wage workers and individuals who sued on discrimination grounds. She also worked as a staff attorney at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid and Southern Migrant Legal Services.
Stephanie Teatro
Director of Advocacy and leader of the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition. Teatro helps immigrants develop a unified voice, defend their rights and create an atmosphere in which they are recognized as positive contributors to the state. Teatro has been a part of TIRRC since January 2012 as the Policy and Civic Engagement Coordinator and became Director of Advocacy in January 2013.
Bob Lenard
A member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and Tennessee and Kentucky Bar Associations, Lenard provides state law legal advice, representation, and services to clients spanning counties in Tennessee and Kentucky, as well as federal law legal advice, representation, and services for military and immigration clients in the United States and overseas.
Douglas Ribeiro
Ribeiro joined the Psychology and Counseling faculty at Lipscomb in the fall of 2012. Ribeiro’s therapeutic approach is grounded in humanistic and multicultural theories. He has studied topics such as culturally responsive counseling interventions, resilience among immigrant groups. Ribeiro currently teaches Introduction to Psychopathology and Adaptive Behavior, Multicultural issues in Counseling, and supervises students completing their practicum/internship experience in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
